在上一集我介紹了螢光礦物的王國Franklin, New Jersey ,這集則是介紹另一個王國加拿大,不同的是加拿大螢光礦物很多但分布在幾個產地,我選擇幾種典型的介紹如下:

very rare Gaidonnayite Microcline fluorescent minerals Mont St-Hilaire Canada

Nice specimen of very rare micro Gaidonnayite crystals on Microcline mineral from Poudrette quarry, Mont St-Hilaire, Quebec, Canada. Found in Fall 2004. These minerals are fluorescent at UV light (SW).
These Gaidonnayite crystals react in fluo green color.
This Microcline crystals react red raspberry color.
At day light the Gaidonnayite crystals require a binocular microscope or a jewelers loupe for proper appreciation. Good specimen for collection of micro mineral or fluorescent collection.
Small cabinet size: 3 x 3 1/2 inches, 1 1/2 inch thick.

Since December 2005 only few minerals were found in the Poudrette Quarry.
Now, we can not go to Poudrette quarry because it is a new administration.

  這是在加拿大蒙聖依來產出的斜方鈉鋯石 Gaidonnayite 組成Na2ZrSi3O9•2(H2O)   與微斜長石   Microcline 組成KAlSi3O8 標本。在短波紫外光下,Gaidonnayite 發出綠色螢光,Microcline  發出暗紫紅色螢光。

  加拿大是我觀察到盛產稀金礦的國度,由市場中看到不少精緻的稀金礦標本,看得出產量應該不少,但是相關政府機構卻很低調不公開數據。螢光礦物與稀金礦關係深厚,在發現螢光礦物的 Poudrette Quarry,目前已被禁止私人採集標本,因此如這些標本顯得更加珍貴。

Hydrozincite Calcite fluorescent minerals Nova Scotia Canada.

Nice specimen of rare Hydrozincite and Calcite minerals from Fives Islands, Nova Scotia , Canada. Found in 2007. These minerals react at UV light at (SW).
This Hydrozincite mineral reacts in white blue color. This specimen is more white blue than the picture.
This Calcite mineral reacts in red color.
Hydrozincite is a secondary zinc mineral as thin fl coatings resulting from alteration of Sphalerite, Hemimorphite and Smithsonite.
Good specimen for thematic and fluorescent mineral collection.
Specimen size: 2 1/4 x 3 1/2 inches.

Very rare Catapleiite Epididymite Calcite fluorescent minerals Mont St-Hilaire.

Nice rare triangular crystal of Calcite with rare Catapleiite and very rare micro Epididymite crystals on Microcline mineral from Poudrette quarry, Mont St-Hilaire, Quebec, Canada. Found Oct-29-2005. These minerals react at UV light ( SW ).
This Calcite crystal reacts in red color.
These Catapleiite crystals react at UV light (SW) in green color. It is rare in this quarry to find a group of fluorescent Catapleiite crystals.
These Catapleiite crystals are more yellow green color than the picture.
The Epididymite crystals are not fluorescent.
This Microcline mineral reacts in pink raspberry color.
Good specimen for association of rare minerals or fluorescent collection.
Small cabinet size: 2 x 3 inches, 2 inches thick.

Blue Sodalite fluorescent minerals Mont St-Hilaire Canada.

This blue Sodalite mineral was found in Poudrette quarry, Mont St-Hilaire, Quebec, Canada. This blue Sodalite mineral reacts at UV light (LW) in orange color. At (SW) the Sodalite reacts in dark red color.
Good specimen for thematic or fluorescent collection.
Specimen size: 1 x 3 inches, 1 inch thick.

Since December 2005 only few minerals were found in the Poudrette Quarry.
Now, we can not go to Poudrette quarry because it is a new administration..

Albite Eudialyte Arfverdsonite green unknown fluorescent minerals Kipawa Canada

Nice specimen of Albite, Eudialyte and Arfverdsonite minerals with a coating of unknown mineral on back of the specimen from Kipawa Complex, Sheffield Lake, Villedieu Township, Temiscaminque, Quebec, Canada. Found in September 2008. Now this site is is closed to collecting. These minerals react at UV light (SW).
This Albite mineral reacts in cherry red color.
This coating of unknown mineral reacts in fluo green color.
Good specimen for thematic or fluorescent mineral collection.
Specimen size: 2 7/8 x 3 3/4 inches, 1 1/2 inch thick.
