An excellent thumbnail size specimen of Radtkeite with Kleinite from the Mcdermitt mine. This specimen features orange crystals of Radtkeite in close association with yellow Kleinite. Radtkeite is an extremely rare sulfohalide of Mercury only known from the Mcdermitt mine. Kleinite is a rare mercury halide known in it's finest crystals from the Mcdermitt.

The Mcdermitt mine is located on the eastern rim of the Mcdermitt Caldera-- a tertiary age complex formed by the "hotspot" currently responsible for Yellowstone's activity. The mercury deposits are the result of hydrothermal activity from this system.
