自從網路在世界各地日漸普及之時，也開始改變許多礦物標本公司的觀念，原本將主力放在土桑礦物展的大公司，已經將分一部份精華的標本，放在十二月網拍來賣，以我的觀察，去年及前年十二月上架的高價礦物各店家很快全部賣光，這勢必激勵今年放更多好東西上架；有一些專做礦物批發的公司，甚至在十月就已經點燃新年熱賣的戰火，尤其平時搜尋不到的白金族礦物，在這個時候偶而就會出現。
對蒐集礦物的國際朋友，金屬礦物中白金族標本一直被視為等級最高，而白金族礦物的完美晶體幾乎是可遇不可求的，組成奇特的標本也很難找到，去年十二月德國知名礦物公司，沒有東西賣，只好賣俄國送檢的標本，然而這型標本最大缺點是完全失去礦物的原貌〈但價格仍然非常貴〉。今年稍好，是有幾件好的標本，但由於我的資金有限，只能集中火力搶下其中一個。如下圖：
今年在網路上也出現５oz 自然金塊，一下子就被搶走，而又再出現３１oz 自然大金塊，以及許多很精緻、奇特的標本都陸陸續續上架，顯然今年要比去年熱鬧的多了。

A rare example of atokite in association with several other platinum, palladium, silver, and gold bearing species from this famed Russian locality!!! This specimen consists of a combination of rare metallic species - atokite, stannopalladinite, tetraferroplatinum, polarite, sperrylite, and silver var. küstelite (a variety of native silver that has between 10-30% gold in association)!!! Upon close inspection in person - one can see that there are numerous well defined zones of varying metallic hue, color, and texture!!! This specimen actually retains an old Cilen collection catalogue number on its acrylic box along with a handwritten label - this specimen was acquired from noted analyst and species dealer Tony Nikischer!!
